Blue Energy is well known as the new way to generate CO₂-free energy from salt and fresh water. It generates energy 24/7, thus improving grid stability at any scale, while being fully sustainable. Blue Energy serves baseload and peak-shaving.

REDstack’s goal is to develop and commercialize this Reverse Electrodialysis (RED) technology by its product, the RED stack. A Demo-pilot (0.5 MW) is developed at the Afsluitdijk, the Netherlands. Places were rivers empty into the sea are suitable locations. Many opportunities thus arise worldwide for the production of this CO₂-free energy. We are calling this Blue Energy: a predictable, completely sustainable and clean source of electricity.

The RED stack is also well established for desalination by Electrodialysis (ED). Applications as desalination of brackish water, cooling tower water and brine reject are promising and commercially available.
Both techniques are sustainable, environmental-friendly and bring no pollution. REDstack is building larger stacks for both purposes, thus bringing REDstacks commercial activities into acceleration.
