Water Alliance neemt deel aan nieuw EIT gefinancierd Entrepreneurship boosting project

Water Alliance is één van de vier Nederlandse partners in een nieuw Europees project – Inno-EUt+. 

Het project wordt gefinancierd door het EIT’s HEI Initiative: Innovation Capacity Building for Higher Education.  Dit nieuwe initiatief van het European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) heeft als doel om het een boost te geven aan het entrepreneurship en de innovatiecapaciteit van universiteiten en hogescholen (HEIs).  

Bij het project zijn een achttal universiteiten betrokken die reeds een aantal jaar met elkaar samenwerken binnen de European university of Technology. Samen met Chrysalis LEAP (Cyprus) gaat Water Alliance de universiteiten helpen bij het vormgeven van een ondernemerschapsprogramma. 

Doel van dit ondernemerschapsprogramma is de studenten en onderzoekers als ondernemer te laten denken en business cases te laten ontwikkelen voor het oplossen van maatschappelijke uitdagingen. Dit zal een boost geven aan entrepreneurship en de innovatiecapaciteit van de universiteiten en hogescholen. Water Alliance zit hierbij dus vooraan op het moment dat er interessante watergerelateerde business cases worden ontwikkeld. Binnen het project maakt Water Alliance gebruik van de kennis en ervaring die op WaterCampus Leeuwarden op het vlak van ondernemerschapsontwikkeling de afgelopen jaren is opgebouwd (zoals bijvoorbeeld met de European WaterCampus Business Challenge).

Het project bestaat uit twee fasen. De eerste fase loopt tot december 2021 en heeft een budget van € 400.000,=. De tweede fase loopt van januari 2022 tot juli 2023 en heeft een budget van € 800.000,=.

Over de EIT’s HEI initatief (Engelstalig)

The EIT’s HEI Initiative is a key objective for the EIT as part of its new strategy, the EIT Strategic Innovation Agenda 2021−2027. The initiative aims to support higher education institutions with expertise and coaching, access to the EIT innovation ecosystem, and funding, enabling them to develop innovation action plans complementing the needs of individual higher education institutions. As part of its Pilot Phase, the initiative has provided funding to 23 projects, with the next call for proposals expected towards the end of 2021.
