Webinar Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) innovation needs in collaboration with EU Techbridge and The Water Council
Description
The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) is looking for innovators who have solutions to help them solve their immediate and future innovation needs. They are seeking technologies in the area of:
Conveyance
- New approaches to perform point repair or rehab of sanitary sewers (36” – 144”) where it is difficult to dewater
- Environmentally friendly approaches to mitigate H2S generation in sanitary sewers
- Inflow and Infiltration source evaluation and cost-effective approaches to remediation
Treatment facilities - PFAS mitigation in liquid/biosolids
- Technologies and strategies for GHG emission reduction and carbon neutrality
o Sensors and systems to alert when assets are not operating efficiently (pumps, blowers, dryers, etc.)
o biogas treatment and exhaust gas scrubbing - High-rate treatment for overflow reduction
o High-rate systems that can be turned on during extreme weather events to mitigate volume of overflow at high-rate discharge sites
o Conveyance system wet weather optimization using machine learning/AI to minimize discharge - Waste elimination/beneficial reuse opportunities for Grit and Scum. Other recovery reuse opportunities (N2O, biopolymer, etc.)
- Analyzers: residual chlorine, ammonia, siloxane (gas), real-time % Total Solids analyzer for sludge
Stormwater management - Low-cost controls for green infrastructure capture and treatment maximization (cost-effective active or passive control strategies that can optimize storage and release of water based on forecasted conditions for active controls or observed conditions with passive controls)
- Remote inspection tools such as satellite spectral imaging to assess vegetation health, native v. non-native species, and maintenance needs
- New best management practices to maximize infiltration of stormwater and mitigate pollution (TSS, TP, and Bacteria reduction)
