2021 was the start of the WTEX10 programme, several Dutch companies showed a specific interest in the Spanish market. 2023 marks the continuation of this programme. Spain is one of the EU countries expected to be affected the most by the climate crisis. Some 20% of mainland Spain is already desertified, due to climate change and human factors, particularly groundwater extraction, and 74% is at risk of desertification. Also the wastewater treatment infrastructure has room for improvement. This provides for ample challenges to solve together.
