Colubris Cleantech Celebrates 40th Anniversary

The family business Colubris Cleantech, based in Winterswijk, the Netherlands, celebrates its 40th anniversary. The machine and construction company, founded by Gertie van den Hurk, has grown over four decades into a globally leading organization specialized in separation and purification technologies.

On January 3, 1984, Van den Hurk established the machine and construction company Redes in Winterswijk. After a few years, the name changed to Redox and laid the foundation for the company’s new direction, focusing on Water and Recycling. Further growth was accelerated by the acquisition of various Dutch companies, including K-Pack and Engineering Bureau Schneider. In 2018, the different business units merged into one company: Colubris Cleantech. Besides Water and Waste, the company also started focusing on technologies for valorizing plant-based residual streams, or Bioresource Solutions.

Growth

In recent years, the company has undergone impressive growth. Over 4,000 projects were realized in more than 70 countries around the world. New branches were added in Oman and Hungary, and the membrane specialist BLUE-tec from Wageningen was acquired. Currently, about 125 people work at Colubris Cleantech.

Frank Tillmann, CEO since 2018: ‘This year, we will focus on various activities to celebrate this anniversary year. Furthermore, we are incredibly grateful to the customers, partners, and dedicated team members who have played an essential role in the success and expansion of Colubris Cleantech over the past 40 years. We will continue to commit ourselves for the next 40 years to our mission of contributing to a circular world economy, by combining our unique expertise to offer the best solutions for our customers.’
