Wetsus and Dairy Campus signed a Letter of Intent in which they confirm their commitment for long term cooperation. The cooperation between these two academic knowledge institutes from Leeuwarden will be dedicated to clean water, recovery of nutrients and antibiotic resistance. This cross over between water technology and dairy/agriculture will start before the end of this year.
The first project will focus on the development of new technology to recover calcium phosphate during the fermentation process of manure. This can lead to new possibilities to face the challenges around phosphate. After research in the Wetsus lab, the technology will be tested at the Dairy Campus.
This project will be part of the Wetsus research theme “Phosphate Recovery”.
