On October 27 2016, visitors from five states in the Gulf region arrived at WaterCampus in Leeuwarden, working in association with the RVO. There were nine high-ranking representatives of organisations in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Dubai and Oman, each of them active, in their respective territories, within the field of water technology. They travelled here to acquaint themselves with Dutch water technology and to discover whether we can offer solutions to their own particular challenges.
After a round of introductions of the delegates and the presentations by the Dutch companies who were in attendance, it was time to do some networking. The parties embarked on conversations in order to investigate the services that they could offer one another. Even though it is too soon to speak of concrete results, the participants are very pleased with the delegations that came to visit. For example, Maurice Tax of BrightSpark had two particularly valuable conversations, one of which has already led to a concrete appraisal of the issues involved.
The visitors from the Gulf are equally happy with their visit to WaterCampus. “The delegations have come into contact with companies who they would never have met otherwise,” according to Marloes de Goeijen of the RVO: “A lot of information went back and forth, so I’m certain that this will lead to positive results.”
