The future of water management.
“Actually, there is only one water chain in the Netherlands that is increasingly coming together as a whole. A chain that, fortunately, is collaborating more and more to tackle the challenges of circularity, climate adaptation, and safe water. Aqua Nederland is the national trade fair for wastewater, drinking water, process water, and urban water & sewage management. It brings together supply and demand for water technology, water management services, and knowledge products.”
Aqua Lounge
This year, we will be presenting ourselves at the WaterCampus stand in the Aqua Lounge. Powered by TKI Watertechnologie, we are able to make a significant contribution.
Do you ever wonder what funding opportunities are available? Or where the market opportunities lie and which institutions and instruments can help take your innovation to the next level? At TKI Innovation Broker, we are here to support you. So be sure to visit us at the Aqua Lounge – we’d be happy to help!
We are organizing various content-driven sessions, where members and expert groups of Water Alliance will share insights on current issues and innovative solutions within the water sector.
The content sessions will focus on topics such as sustainable water management solutions, advanced water treatment technologies, and the circular economy. These sessions provide a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and interaction between companies, experts, and other stakeholders from the water technology sector. Through the participation of our members and the application of their expertise, we aim to contribute to the further sustainability and innovation of the water sector in the Netherlands.

Symposium: Construction Roundtable for Water-Efficient Neighborhoods by Water Alliance (powered by TKI Water & Maritime).
The Water Alliance expert group Circular Water is part of the Construction Roundtable for Water-Efficient Neighborhoods Gelderland, an initiative by Vitens, the Province of Gelderland, and Water Authority Vallei en Veluwe. Developers, construction companies, suppliers, and industry associations collaborate to create water-friendly neighborhoods. This initiative is essential as Vitens lacks the capacity to meet the growing demand for drinking water. Without measures, residential development is at risk. The Construction Roundtable contributes to the National Action Plan for Drinking Water Conservation, aiming to reduce daily drinking water consumption to 100 liters per person by 2035 and achieve a 20% savings for businesses.
Speakers and topics:
🔹 Water-Efficient Construction: Techniques and Possibilities – Johan Bel (Mijn Waterfabriek)
🔹 Financial and Legal Aspects of Circular Construction – Richard van Delden (BlueNorth Partners)
🔹 Scaling Up Water-Efficient Neighborhoods: From Pilot to Standard – Ruben Wentink (FieldFactors)

Symposium: Against the Flow – From Wastewater to Reusable Process Water and Valuable Components
Water supply in the Netherlands is under pressure due to stricter discharge regulations and the goal of achieving a 20% reduction in drinking water consumption by 2035. In this symposium, the Water Alliance expert group Resource Recovery explores how companies can recover valuable components from their wastewater while simultaneously reducing costs and water consumption.
Speakers and topics:
🔹 Water and Industry: Sustainable Water Usage – Toon Boonekamp (Sweco)
🔹 Recovering Acids and Bases from Wastewater – Willem van Baak (Water Future BV)
🔹 Innovative Technologies for Water and Energy Savings – Erik Vriezekolk (WFBR)
🔹 Preventing Water from Becoming Wastewater – Bert Offereins (SPIE)
🔹 The Role of Storage in Resource Recovery – Chris Kuyper (ISS Tanks BV)
🔹 Solid-Liquid Separation as the Key to Reuse – Roland Dekker (Bellmer B.V.)
🔹 Applying Knowledge to Your Factory – Joost Edens (KWA Bedrijfsadviseurs)

Symposium: The Need to Address Industrial Water Flows – But How?
Industrial water flows require specific expertise to be optimized. Whether it involves measurements, technology, or automation, everything must come together for the best results. This is essential within the framework of the National Action Plan for Drinking Water Conservation, which aims for a 20% reduction in water consumption for major users by 2035 and a fully circular economy by 2050.
Speakers and topics:
🔹 Sustainable Water Management: Innovation for a Clean Future – Anita van Rooijen (Endress+Hauser)
🔹 Ozone in Industrial Process Water: Do’s, Don’ts, and Regulations – Art Lobs (Verhoeve Nederland B.V.)
🔹 Cost Savings in Industrial Water Treatment – Marit van Veen (CirTec B.V.)
🔹 Effluent as Process Water: A Case Study – Janneke Dickhout (CEW)
🔹 Flow and Level Measurements in Wastewater – Ad Gelderblom (KROHNE)
