Seven water tech innovations face off for WIS Award
On Friday, 18 December, the WIS Award 2020 innovation competition will be held in Studio Z in Leeuwarden. This year’s WIS Award is a largely digital event in which seven Dutch water technology companies present their extraordinary innovations to an expert jury and the rest of the world. Over the years, the competition has grown into a breeding ground for golden ideas, and sometimes sets the stage for an international breakthrough.
One such breakthrough came after Leeuwarden-based Hydraloop (small-scale home and office water recycling systems) won the previous WIS Award. The company not only won the main prize—good for €10,000 in marketing support—but was immediately buried in an avalanche of international media attention after the win. The company now produces for numerous customers in various countries and has secured funding to fuel further international growth.
Now, once again, seven noteworthy innovations have been submitted which, according to the organisation, definitely have international potential. This year, the competitors for eternal fame and the main prize are Susphos with Susfire, Noria with CirCleaner, Jotem with the Smartbox, O3 systems with the FOX (Friendly Oxidation), Semiotic Labs with the SAM4, Berghof Membrane Technology with the Tubular Forward Osmoses and Royal Brinkman with the Nanobubbles.
Finale on 18 December
The WIS Award will be broadcast freely online on 18 December 2020, from 14:30 to around 15:45. Please leave your emailadress and we’ll make sure you’ll receive the livestreamlink!
