Since the summer of the 2018, the Water Alliance participates in the Interreg North-West Europe project Water Test Network (formerly known as LL4WIDE). The project’s main objective is to establish an European network of testing facilities with different water types which can be used by SMEs in North-West Europe. SMEs can test, demonstrate and develop new products for the water sector at these test facilities. In this way, the project will accelerate the time to market and develop new innovations.
Focus on SMEs
In the project, SMEs can get support to bring their products quicker to the market. The support consist of assistance with validation, verification, financing and access to test facilities. In regards to the financial support, the project will issue vouchers up to €50.000 for SMEs to cover the costs of testing at a test facility.
Role of Water Alliance
Besides the Water Alliance, the Centre of Expertise Water Technology (CEW) is also partner in the Water Test Network. Both organisations are part of the WaterCampus Leeuwarden. An important part of the WaterCampus ecosystem are the 5 demosites where organisations can test their innovations on a full-scale test facility. By participating in this project, the demosites will be promoted and will be part of an European network of test facilities. Moreover, this project gives members of the Water Alliance and other companies the opportunity and (financial) support to test their products on a variety of test facilities throughout Western Europe. The Water Alliance is mainly responsible for communication and networking in the project.
