International collaboration and young talent at the heart of the Blue Deal in YEP publication
Within the international Blue Deal, Dutch water authorities work together with partners worldwide to improve water management. The programme aims to improve access to clean, safe and sufficient water for 20 million people by 2030. In a special edition of the magazine YEP Effect, the role of Young Experts within these collaborations is highlighted.
YEP Programmes is publishing a special edition of YEP Effect, dedicated to the collaboration between YEP Tailor-made and the international Blue Deal programme.
The Blue Deal is led by the Dutch water authorities and supported by the NWB Fund. Through YEP Tailor-made, Young Experts are deployed worldwide within Blue Deal partnerships. They contribute to strengthening water governance while at the same time gaining experience in technical, leadership and collaborative skills.
The edition was produced in collaboration with the Young Experts and features case studies and interviews from various partnerships. It highlights an innovative greywater treatment system at a technical college, a mentor story from Colombia and impact stories from alumni. In addition, themes such as climate adaptation, social inclusion and institutional innovation are explored. In the Partners Talking section, Young Experts from Eswatini speak with partners about the role of young people in water governance.
