The Wetsus Congress 2016 will be held on October 3 and 4, in city theatre De Harmonie in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands.
The theme of day one is Financing Innovation. In the morning session on October 3, this topic will be addressed by prof. dr. Alexander Rinnooy Kan (member of the Dutch Senate), dr. Andreas Benkitsch, (CFO of EIT Raw Materials) and dr. Anna Halpern-Lande (Shell Innovations). In the afternoon, the plenary session continues with contributions from Lydia Whyatt, Resonance Asset Management, and from Riksta Zwart (director Waterbedrijf Groningen). This is followed by the first round for the WIS 2017 Award: a pitch battle by innovative companies. To conclude the first day, you can choose to attend one of the parallel sessions, Widening participation, spreading excellence across Europe and Technology trends unraveled.
On Tuesday October 4, the focus is on science. Keynote speeches will be delivered by prof. Lydéric Bocquet ( Ecole Normale Supérieure and CNRS, Paris), and prof. Lutgarde Raskin (Altarum/Professor of Engineering, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA). The parallel sessions are based on the research themes of Wetsus, and feature many interesting topics and speakers.
