From 27 September to 2 October 2026, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Brasília and the Consulate-General in São Paulo, is organising a trade mission to Brazil. The mission focuses on sustainable agriculture, water, biodiversity and climate, offering Dutch companies and knowledge institutions the opportunity to explore new business opportunities in one of the world’s largest agricultural markets.
Why Brazil?
Brazil faces major challenges related to climate change, water management, deforestation and sustainable food production. As a result, there is a growing demand for innovative solutions that support more efficient water use, ecosystem restoration and climate-resilient agriculture.
Dutch organisations are well positioned to contribute. With the Netherlands’ internationally recognised expertise in water technology, water management and sustainable innovation, Dutch companies can play an important role in supporting the transition towards a more sustainable agricultural and water sector in Brazil.
Who should participate?
This trade mission is aimed at Dutch companies, start-ups, scale-ups and knowledge institutions active in areas such as:
- Water management and water technology;
- Sustainable agriculture;
- Biodiversity and ecosystem restoration;
- Climate adaptation;
- Innovative monitoring and data-driven technologies.
The mission is particularly relevant for organisations looking to explore the Brazilian market, establish new partnerships or strengthen existing business relationships.
Opportunities for the water sector
The mission will focus on a range of themes where Dutch water expertise can add significant value, including:
- Smart and efficient water management;
- Restoration of agricultural land and natural ecosystems;
- Nature-based solutions;
- Remote sensing and environmental monitoring;
- Sustainable agricultural value chains;
- Innovative technologies for climate-resilient agriculture.
In addition, the recently concluded EU–Mercosur Agreement and the increasing demand for more sustainable supply chains are creating new opportunities for Dutch companies looking to expand their international activities.
What to expect?
The programme is currently being finalised, but is expected to include:
- One-to-one matchmaking sessions with potential business partners;
- Networking receptions;
- Seminars and knowledge sessions;
- Company and field visits.
These activities will provide valuable insights into the Brazilian market while offering direct access to local businesses, government organisations and knowledge institutions.

- Participation fee: €650 (excluding VAT) per organisation (one participant)
- Additional participant: €325 (excluding VAT)
- Registration deadline: 4 September 2026
The participation fee includes access to the collective programme, individual matchmaking, local transport and on-site support. Travel and accommodation costs are at the participant’s own expense.
