Meet the Dutch water technology sector in Rome

Italy brings the best coffee. The Netherlands brings the stroopwafels. From Tuesday 29 September to Thursday 1 October, we bring the best of both worlds together in Rome.

As part of the NLwatertech2Italy programme, a Dutch delegation of water technology companies and stakeholders is heading to Rome. We will be present at the Festival dell’Acqua and the Euro-Mediterranean Water Forum to exchange knowledge, build new connections and explore opportunities for international collaboration.

Meet us on the exhibition floor, discover Dutch solutions for today’s water challenges and register for our workshop on water resilience on 1 October.

Why meet the Dutch delegation?

Looking for innovative technology, a potential project partner or new ideas to make water systems more resilient? The Dutch delegation brings together expertise in digital water, data and monitoring, asset management, filtration, leakage reduction, water quality and climate resilience.

Meet:

  • Spatial-Eye – turning GIS and infrastructure data into valuable insights for better infrastructure management.
  • Samotics – using energy signals to detect developing failures in pumps and other critical assets.
  • Artesia Water – groundwater expertise, measurements, modelling and data-driven water management.
  • Spatial Insight – supporting risk-based infrastructure investment and helping organisations look at asset health, not only asset failure.
  • Andel Environmental – practical solutions for flood defence and environmental compliance.
  • NX Filtration – advanced filtration technology supporting water treatment, reuse and compliance with changing requirements.
  • QMES – solutions focused on wastewater treatment and the restoration of soil and groundwater.
  • Hulo – helping water utilities reduce leakage faster without the need for additional hardware.

These areas of expertise are also at the heart of our workshop on 1 October.

Who should join?

This programme is relevant for Italian and international water utilities, technology companies, policymakers, asset managers, researchers and other water professionals working on resilient water infrastructure.

The workshop is particularly interesting for professionals looking for practical approaches to climate resilience, digitalisation, water losses, groundwater, asset management, water quality and infrastructure investment.

Workshop: The Resilience Advantage – Leading Through Water Risk

Thursday 1 October | 09:30–11:00 | Rome

Climate risks are increasing, while water utilities need to keep infrastructure reliable, comply with regulation and make smart investment decisions. The question is therefore not only how to respond when something goes wrong, but also: can we see it coming?

During the 90-minute workshop The Resilience Advantage: Leading Through Water Risk, Dutch and Italian water professionals will explore both sides of water resilience: anticipating and managing risks, and responding and recovering when risks materialise.

Expect practical cases, real-world experience and plenty of room for discussion. The workshop brings together Dutch technology companies and Italian water-sector representatives in a moderated dialogue, with opportunities for audience Q&A throughout. The working programme is designed for an audience of up to 50 participants.

Workshop programme

  • 09:30 – Opening
Setting the scene: climate risk, digitalisation and the shift from measuring failure towards understanding and managing infrastructure health.
  • Keynote – Investing in Water Resilience: Managing Risk, Creating Value
  • Session 1 – Getting Ahead of Risk
How can data, diagnostics and predictive insights help utilities identify risks earlier and make better operational and investment decisions? Spatial-Eye, Samotics, Artesia Water and Spatial Insight share perspectives on structured infrastructure data, energy-based diagnostics, groundwater intelligence and risk-based asset management.
  • Keynote – The New Water Reality: Resilience, Response and Recovery
  • Session 2 – Resilience in Action
What happens when risks become reality? Andel Environmental, NX Filtration, QMES and Hulo explore how technology can support faster response, environmental compliance, water treatment and reuse, recovery of soil and groundwater, and leakage reduction.
  • 11:00 – Closing and next connections
From anticipating risk to responding when it arrives, followed by opportunities to continue the conversation.

Italian utility and institutional representatives will also join the dialogue. Names will be announced once confirmed.

See you in Rome?

Meet the Dutch delegation on the exhibition floor, join our workshop on 1 October – or do both. Some of the best international collaborations still start with a simple conversation. And in Italy, preferably with an espresso nearby.
