Water Alliance’ member BW Products won the UK Water Industry Achievement Award with its latest invention Sand-Cycle.
Sand-Cycle is a monitoring tool in water treatment based upon RFID technology. RFID technology is generally well applied in the industry and the consumer market, but has not yet been applied successfully in the water industry. BW Products managed to implement the technology in moving bed biofilters in order to optimize performance and to assist operators to make the most out of the assets.
The Award winning ceremony in Birmingham, UK, was attended by over 550 persons from the water industry in Europe.
