Koch Seperation Solutions (KSS) a global leader in membrane filtration, ion exchange, and thermal separation solutions has partnered with Aqana to be able to offer its customers the Downflow Anaerobic Carrier System (DACS) solution which complements KSS membrane-based solutions. Aqana benefits from the global presence and new market exposure provided by the KSS network.
Water Alliance member Aqana offers the DACS® – an advanced and unique treatment system that is a particularly efficient alternative to conventional Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) and high-rate Expanded Granular Sludge Bed (EGSB) treatment systems. DACS® is high-rate process that is also able to cope with high (fluctuating) organic loads, higher concentrations of inhibiting substances (e.g. limonene in citrus processing), high salt concentrations, and other shock loads.
Aqana is rapidly growing and is expected to clock a revenue of $8 – $10 million in 2023. To attract fresh talent, the company is shifting its HQ closer towards WaterCampus, the European “Waterhub” in Leeuwarden (the Netherlands) which would also help the company access the universities labs for new R&D. Aqana is in the process of expanding its sales team to effectively leverage the rapid increase in the leads and opportunities as clients look to capitalize on the unique solution offering of energy recovery and wastewater treatment.
About the solutions:
Aqana offers a unique and innovative anaerobic wastewater treatment system that uses carriers to retain the active biomass inside an anaerobic reactor enabling highly efficient wastewater treatment and biogas production. KSS offers PURON & PULSION Membrane Bio Reactor (MBR) systems for wastewater treatment systems and PURON hollow fibre membranes for water treatment for both Industrial and municipal customers.
