VNO-NCW, in collaboration with Rijkswaterstaat and the water boards, has developed a new Self-Assessment tool for companies with permit-required direct discharges into surface water. This tool helps businesses gain insight into their discharge situation and assess whether they comply with the requirements of the Water Framework Directive (WFD) and Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC). Additionally, a dedicated helpdesk is available for further support.
The Self-Assessment tool, available at www.ondernemen.nl/krw, provides companies with a straightforward way to review their processes and identify potential risks. This allows them to better prepare for future regulations and contribute to more sustainable water management.
A similar tool for indirect discharges is currently in development. VNO-NCW expects this tool to be available within a few months. Once it is online, a joint initiative, such as a webinar, will be organized to inform the Environmental Agencies (ODs) about it.
