The Dutch grow up with water. It is no surprise that water recreation is popular in our country. The Netherlands has one of the highest percentages of people who can swim. Of course, swimming must be safe and healthy! The quality and safety of swimming pools are essential for this. The experts at Water Alliance know everything about the proper application of pool technologies and the regulations surrounding swimming pools. They can fully inform you about achieving optimal comfort in terms of water and air quality, while keeping operating costs as low as possible.

Laws and regulations
In a swimming pool, there are various risks. Some risks are clear, while others develop gradually, especially when it comes to hygiene and safety, such as limiting bacteria and viruses. The Dutch government has created several laws and regulations to ensure safe swimming. We specialize in this legislation and we’re happy to guide you through the key topics that are relevant, especially regarding the new Environmental Law (Omgevingswet).

Working together for a healthy and safe swimming environment.
Clean, sparkling, and clear water combined with good air quality is the foundation for an optimal swimming experience. Effective control of water and air quality is therefore essential. This includes the use of various pool technologies, such as air treatment and pool chemistry (for disinfection). Eye and respiratory irritation caused by the well-known chlorine smell are often the result of poor air and water quality.
As the owner or operator of a public swimming pool, hotel pool, campsite pool, therapeutic pool, sauna business, or gym, you may not be dealing with the process control of water and air every day. However, optimal knowledge of technology, chemistry, control and management, as well as laws and regulations, is essential to ensure a healthy and safe swimming environment. After a new pool has been put into use, questions such as the following arise:
- How should the water be monitored?
- How can I keep my pool water clean?
- How should I handle the maintenance of my pool installations?
- How can I make my pool environment as comfortable as possible for swimmers, staff, and visitors?
- Which pool equipment should I purchase?

SDGs as a guideline
The ambition of Water Alliance is to keep our environment livable and healthy, and to limit and manage climate change. A pool with improperly set up installations consumes energy and wastes water. This results in unnecessarily high operating costs. By applying the right technologies, we can contribute to sustainability in a safe and healthy swimming pool environment.
