For many years I-Real has applied the latest technology for wireless and contact free communication and data collection. In order to offer extended options to (future) users, I-Real has extended its RealSense product range for water level monitoring with a bluetooth logger.
The bluetooth logger incorporates the option for contact free and wireless data transfer for ground- and wastewater analysis. One of the main advantages is that the logger does not need to be removed from its installation or to be connected to a computer. Data is being transferred from the logger towards the bluetooth device completely wireless. This way the amount of errors and deviation are reduced and more accurate measuring data is achieved. Moreover, monthly communication costs are avoided by using the bluetooth technology.
How does it work?
When reading data, the bluetooth logger will be activated for a short amount of time as data is transferred safely and quickly by using the the H2gO mobile app. After disconnecting, the logger will shut down bluetooth in order to minimize energy consumption during normal operation. Data can be uploaded directly into H2gO or saved as .csv file for further distribution.
The bluetooth logger consists of a sensor (hanging in the water) and a logger with bluetooth technology. The logger will be installed at the top of a well where fully automatic measurement takes place. Data is stored in the internal memory of the logger.
Battery
Thanks to the internal battery-pack, the bluetooth logger is ideal for locations where a fixed power connection is not available. Depending on the application and requirements, the data logger is equipped with a solar panel or connected to the fixed power source. To save battery life the bluetooth functionality is disabled as standard. Depending on measurement interval the battery will lasts for 3 – 5 years. To extend the lifespan of the logger the battery set is completely replaceable.
Configuration settings can be changed using the mobile app. This makes the logger complementary to the RealSense telemetric and semi-automatic measuring and monitoring systems of I-Real.
